Longtime volunteer Ken Adamson has died

Everyone was saddened to learn of the passing of Ken Adamson last week. Ken was one of the first volunteers on the Lady Washington project, and he was a charter member of the original "Ancient Mariners" volunteer group. Ken volunteered at the Historical Seaport from 1986 into 2011, when his health restricted his activities. Over the 25 years that he served the Seaport, he built, restored and purchased many pieces of equipment that we continue to use today. The upper photo shows Ken driving a drift bolt into the hull of Lady Washington during her construction. The lower photo shows Ken milling planking for the ship.

A memorial service is planned for Ken at the Bethany Baptist Church in Satsop, Wash. at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 26th. If you have any memories or photos to share of Ken, we'd like to hear about them. Send your thoughts to ghhsa_admin@historicalseaport.org, and we'll pass them along to family and friends.
