Lady Washington, Hawaiian Chieftain Visit to San Francisco Cancelled
The visit by Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain, scheduled for today through March 19 in San Francisco, has been cancelled. Upon arriving Thursday at Pier 40, the vessels found that public access to the dock had been closed due to damage to a public ramp. Without access, sailing guests and visitors cannot reach the ships. All public activities in San Francisco are therefore cancelled.
The ships will move to Sausalito on Saturday morning and berth at the Bay Model, 2100 Bridgeway, Sausalito, where they will stay until April 2.
Tickets held for previously scheduled public sailings in San Francisco will be honored on the same dates and times in Sausalito. For a map to the Sausalito location and for more information, including refunds and exchanges, guests are asked to visit www.historicalseaport.org.
As previously announced, Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain will ask passengers to observe a moment of silence at 2:46 p.m. Sunday, March 11, to honor the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.

Fan Photo: LW and HC Together in Redwood City
Roseanne Simon, a friend of ours in Redwood City, Calif., sent us a photo of Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain rafted up at the Port of Redwood City. The picture was taken March 1, and Roseanne went on a Battle Sail on March 4. "It was great fun as we all are fans of the tall ships," she says. Send your favorite pictures of our tall ships to photos@historicalseaport.org.
